We are looking for a Lead Developer to lead our growing development team, elevate our technical standards, and drive scalable, maintainable, and high-performing codebases. This role is perfect for a senior-level engineer or architect who is passionate about modern architecture, efficient delivery, and unlocking team potential through the right tools, best practices, and smart use of AI.

You will work closely with the CEO, Product, and DevOps to define our technical vision and ensure all digital products are built for speed, stability, and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership

• Define and enforce best practices for coding standards, code structure, and database architecture.

• Review and guide the structure of new and existing projects to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.

• Solve complex technical issues (e.g., site crashes under load, performance bottlenecks).

Architectural Ownership

• Own the design of software architecture and data modeling across key platforms.

• Guide the selection of appropriate tech stacks, CMS, frameworks, libraries, and 3rd-party services to reduce development time and future bugs.

Team Enablement

• Lead and mentor a team of 15+ developers across multiple projects.

• Improve workflows and introduce AI tools that enhance productivity, creativity, and code quality.

• Run regular tech reviews, architecture planning sessions, and retrospective learning.

AI & Tooling Evangelism

• Promote the adoption of AI-assisted coding (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT workflows) within day-to-day operations.

• Curate internal tooling and best-of-breed practices that improve dev velocity and stability.

Quality & Performance Oversight

• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to ensure system resilience, security, and performance.

• Help resolve chronic technical issues and ensure smooth handoffs from project to production.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in software development, with strong backend and architecture focus.

• Proven experience leading or mentoring development teams.

• Deep understanding of database design, scalability, and high-performance systems.

• Hands-on experience selecting and integrating CMS platforms, frameworks, or third-party services.

• Comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).

• Experience implementing or promoting AI tooling into dev workflows.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• (Bonus) Experience with agency or multi-project environments.
